CPV Technolgy
The Solense product is based upon proven technology and utilizes a proven GA cell produced by Spectrolabs (and others), all with the same design configuration. These cells individually can produce up to 25 watts of power when a concentration of 1,000 suns is focused evenly on just one cell
CPV Technology Features
- Concentrating photovoltaic makes use of the photovoltaic effect but adding lense4s and mirror to concentrate the sunligth.
- CPV Technology started about 10-15 years ago when the cost of Silicon was high and there was a need to reduce the area of cell material.
- It works with DNI instead of GHI
- potential for solar cell efficiencies greater than 40%
- Concentration ratio can reach over 400X
- Small cell area of around 1cm2
- Accurate Solar System Tracker (~0.01) and ventilation are required

Our Product Overview
- The Solense design will use a 2-axis tracker to ensure direct sunlight reaches the solar cell.
- The design places the solar cell at the rear of the array where it can be easily cooled.
- A lightweight modular design holds the lens and cells, greatly reducing the weight constraints of the array.
- Advanced lens development has allowed Solense to reduce costs while maintaining best in class efficiencies.
- Carefully considered design choices have led to lower weight constraints and material usage across the system.
- A mock up lens has been manufactured to demonstrate production techniques.
